How long are the tutoring sessions and where will they be conducted?

Private:  45 minutes (six weeks)*       Group:  (3-5 max.)- 1 hour  (six weeks)*

Most sessions will occur either on our nature trail, "Forest of Phonics", Story Trail, campfire area or outdoor arena.  Some classroom-type activities may be conducted in our Creekside Cabin as well.  

*Last week may be used for one make up session.

What to expect?

• Warm Up/Review

• Skill Building- "Retention in Action"

  • experiential learning activity targeting pre-determined goals/objectives and supporting existing school or homeschool work

  • guided read aloud using nature or horse-themed books appropriate for reading level 

  • horses join the sessions when needed to help readers learn more effectively

• Wrap Up/Review

Any special attire necessary?

We require children to wear shoes that are closed around the feet; no sandals or flip-flops.  Long pants are also recommended.

Drop off/Pick up:

Meet us at the wagon wheel (you'll see when you drive in) a few minutes before and after your child's session time.  We appreciate timeliness!  :)  You may also choose to sit and relax in designated areas that are outside of the horses' paddocks.

What is the fee?

There are no set fees.  Sessions are based on donations.  We appreciate whatever you are able to contribute!

Suggested donation:  $10-15/single session
