All sessions are custom-tailored to meet the needs and targeted reading skills of individual or group participants (ages 5 and up).  Small groups placed by similar age and reading ability.  

How long are HPR/tutoring sessions and where will they be conducted?

Private:  45 minutes        Group:  (3-5 max.)- 1 hour 

Most will occur in our outdoor arena or enclosed paddock.   Some classroom-type activities may be conducted in our Creekside Cabin.  There is also a nature trail, "Forest of Phonics" and Story Trail that may be integrated into the sessions.  

How are HPR/tutoring sessions structured?

Participants will be educated about safety, horse behavior and basic horsemanship followed by an experiential activity to develop targeted reading skills.

Is horse experience required?

No, that is not a problem.  There is no riding and we require children to wear shoes that are closed around the feet; no sandals or flip-flops.

Do I have to wait in my car during my child's session?

No.  You may relax in our Creekside Cabin while observing your child's session.

Is there any make up if I need to cancel?

Yes.  One make up session is allowed on your same day/time, pending availability or during the 'make up week'.
